@ Meilina Utomo: So true: “Food-homesick is as sad as feeling-homesick” . I once had a similar experience though on a minor scale. In spite of my love for the Indonesian cuisine and the fact my stay in Indonesia lasted only a lousy three months, the longing for Hutspot ( kind of stew – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutspot) almost became unbearable .

@ladyulia: Knowing where you grew up I guess you, almost by definition, are fond of Padang food as well .

Btw I did read you’re answer – though I actually didn’t refer to Hijab as such. But I love to read the irony( )of your post as well as I understand and respect your motivation.
