DianDalam bahasa Indonesia, pelopor artinya seseorang yang memulai suatu hal yang baru. Kata pelopor sendiri berakar dari bahasa belanda voorloper yang arti harfiahnya relatif sama seperti yang diamini oleh masyarakat Indonesia saat ini. Di masa kolonialisme Belanda kata pelopor dipergunakan sebagai sebutan bagi orang-orang yang anti terhadap kolonialisme di Indonesia.

The indonesian word pelopor comes from the Dutch word voorloper and means someone who is ahaed in certain developments. In historical context the word pelopor is also used for anti-colonial Indonesian combatants.

Fransta Het Indonesische woord pelopor is afgeleid van het Nederlandse woord voorloper en betekent iemand die vooroploopt in een bepaalde ontwikkeling. In historische context wordt het ook wel gebruikt om Indonesische antikoloniale strijders mee aan te duiden.
