jerry van den brink ( colson): @ Son: Great. Yet I'm not happy with this new template. It's not quite as "inviting" as the previous one.
Pelopor: @commentors: As far as I can see, comments should work fine now.
Colson: @ Harry: You're absolutely right to complain. It seems the Pelopor site isn't as hospitable as it should be.
Because I'm the stupid one of [...]
Harry Nizam: Hi Colson, I hate to complain I cannot give comment, tried twice always error.
Colson: @ aOzOra: Thanks. Actually I am interested indeed. I guess it's shere coincidence that last Sunday night I watched his very long ( over three [...]
a0z0ra: Colson, I thought you may be interested in this... big budget film set to take place in Indonesia directed by Verhoeven
http://www.filmbiz.asia/news/verhoeven-comes-to-indonesia?utm_source=fba&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=weekly
Colson: @HarrY: Your comment is there Now.
Harry Nizam: I commented on your latest post but not yet shown.
Colson: @ Harry, Tikno and Simon: Gentlemen, I think the comment-problem has been solved.
simon: I can't comment either. No problem though, I can wish you a happy Independence Day from here.
And finally we have it. The Youtube Wars! Propaganda has undergone a new evolution. Youtube quality movies to reach out to the world in the name of righteousness.
For those who couldn’t find it, here’s……Fitna. Reactions from the Dutch media, public figures were all roughly the same: is this it? And it has to be said: OMG this is really lousy work! Please deh. If you have watched this, you’ll probably going to conclude this is not worth worrying about.
Almouftinoun. Almouftinoun? It’s the reaction of the
AEL to the movie of Wilders.
And it has to be said: OMG this is also really lousy work!
I have been looking for this clip, fortunately I subscribed to this blog and, here I am, watching the clip above and just watched Fitna in the link you gave. Thank you for the link. My comment? I’d rather not say anything, haha.
Pelopor, old boy, I think we safely leave the floor to the combatants. Let them play their stupid games. I totally agree with Jan Marijnissen. He rated the quality of these short movies at about the first level of junior high. So let us address our real problems as soon as possible.
@mulia: I’m sure you didn’t want to compare Michael Moore to Geert Wilders. But to be sure I just wanna say: Michael Moore is a giant – for me he is on the right side, he is a professional director of documentaries and an exceptional apt and witty persuader. All things mr Geert Wilders is just not.
yes yes, but i mean the accusation brought up is not more severe, not so controversial-or perhaps it is among the Dutch? but i’d go with yuki, though; no comment (though i just posted 2 comments already : D ).
Colson,
I have written about this in my blog. This is an excerpt, you can read the rest in my blog.
“To tell you the truth, I didn’t see anything spectacular, nor do I see anything wrong with it. It’s just a matter of how you perceive the film, which is relative and differs from one person to the next.”
let me know what you think.
thanks to Sherwin who shared this link
i don’t think this is wise to mock Bible and Christian religion as well as my disagreement about mocking Islam, Al Quran and Muhammad.
i haven’t watch tegenfilm yet, but by reading the news on Republika, tegenfilm just mocking Geert Wilders only without mocking his religion. this is wiser than almouftinoun i think, just my thought, sorry if somebody here is disagree with me
@yonna: I’m sorry – but the Fitna seemed to have been removed. At least our link doesn’t work anymore.
The problem with that movie ( apart from being a lousy amateurish short movie) is not that it shows the factual horror in the name of a religion ( it’s only old TV footage which has been widely shown in the past). The devilish part of it is the subtext of Geert Wilders. Which is that the non-Muslim majority should hold all Muslims ( especially those who are our compatriots, for Christ’s sake!) responsible for these acts of terror because this terror should be a direct consequence of what is stated in the Koran.
Some smart analysts have said that Wilders and Osama seem to share the same state of mind in as far as it comes to the mission of Muslims in the world.
@ Colson and Rima:
You know..the first time i saw the video from the link Colson gave, i didnt think it’s special and i didnt know people think it’s more than just another youtube video. i dindt give a damn.
until i read in detik dot com, the ulama consider to close down indonesian access to youtube in relation to this??heh??? have i misread or what???!!! i really hope i misread.
Gosh, why on earth people would spend more than a second to even think, discuss or care about such crap like that. huh!
i agree with u rima, it’s gona be on and on and on..only if we care.
and huge thanks for the Masoed link. i like it very much too
@yonna: it’s still on in dailymotion
well, i hope this is only going to be internet war. i cant even imagine if there is a third world war because of this, it would be devastating, plus ignorant fascist extremists and fundamentalists are the one who are winning. they get what they want, which is bloodbath in the name of religion.
I hope that the majority of the people of the world who still want peace (I am still optimistic about this) will prevail.
btw, isn’t wilders an atheist? why the attack on christians now?
@mulia:
yes, unfortunately, our government reacts to everything like a 5 year old would react. it’s either ban, or block or ban..
the same for pornography/pornoaction and many things.
next thing we know, indonesia will be the extension of saudi arabia, or the taliban ridden afghanistan. i swear, the liberals are called liars and blasphemous, while the extremists are growing in numbers. it’s scary to even imagine what our beautiful country will be like in 5 or 10 years.
@Colson
hey, thanks for your further explanation
i just realize this blog is belong to 3 bloggers, i thought this was your personal blog, nice blog, it seems that you like to talk about Indonesian culture and anything about Indonesia
@mulia
i don’t have time yet to watch fitna yet
I dont see it differently from Fahrenheit 911 or Super Size Me..
is that fitna too?
well if Mr. Rob considers some comments in the “Indonesian Women” discussion as fitna, maybe it is.
(Gosh, i should have known better what fitna is, hehe)
Well, i am not sure. But thanks for the link, Sir
