Are you talking to me?!

I listened to Andrew Keen and wondered: is he talking to me? About me? Isn’t he telling us our own inconvenient truths? Are bloggers really killing creativity and professionalism in blogosphere journalism? How guilty are we? And what about his prophecy? Is neo professionalism actually going to wash us, amateurs, away in a few months or a few years?

Well maybe you should watch him. Yes, in the process I prove at least one of his objections is right: I’m going to commit the sin of plain plagiarism. So here is a one hour presentation and a five minutes version by our Cyberspace Casandra:

Hi Jerry,

I don’t have much time to think about all this (yes, I watched the videos; no, I don’t completely agree, but yes there is a lot of shit out there; and who cares about our daily issues?), but I think you would also appreciate this essay (in Dutch): http://www.groene.nl/adhoc/Een_blog_voor_je_kop

Hi Jerry,

I don’t have much time to think about this but:
- yes, I did see these videos,
- no, I do not agree (video didn’t kill the radio star),
- yes, there is a lot of shit out there.

I think you would also appreciate this essay:

Hello again Pak, there were indeedthat remind me to talks about Web 3.0 similar to this. Basically :
.
Web 1.0 : news from prof editors
.
Web 2.0 : news from amateurs (read: us, bloggers)
.
Web 3.0 :news from amateurs, managed by prof. editors.
.
Personally, I don’t really care :) As long as my little box on the cyberspace are there, where I can stand on it and speak my heart out, I’m happy.
I believe in freedom in information, and I believe this is our rights.
.
As long we’re not stripped out of it, that’s fine with me. :)
